Hi all. I know, it’s been a long time since I’ve posted. Busy, busy, busy. In lieu of the Thanksgiving holiday, I decided not to post anything until the weekend, so as to relax and unwind with the family. Today, I will begin my daily review and product information or tutorial. Each day, I will post:
- A review of a favorite or not-so-favorite product
and/or - An informational piece on a Mary Kay product
or - Tutorial on a popular makeup trend or Mary Kay product
or - Information on new Mary Kay items
So, today, I will be featuring Mary Kay Creme Lipstick in Sweet Nectar and reviewing Loreal True Match Concealer
On with the show……

Mary Kay Creme Lipstick
Sweet Nectar
Sweet Nectar is described as a Tawny color. Of all Mary Kay Creme Lipsticks, the tawnies have the smallest category. There are only three colors: Sweet Nectar, Sunburst, and Sunset, all three very peachy or pink colors with a neutral set to them. Honestly, these colors look good on people of all skin colors, eye colors, and hair colors.
A feature of the creme lipstick that appeals to most women is the longevity of wear of the color. It neither feathers nor bleeds due to the exclusive pigment in the creme formula. It’s enhanced with Vitamin E and Vitamin C to protect and enhance the natural moisture of your lips.
To most compliment your lipstick shade with Sweet Nectar, you should also buy MK Lip Liner in either Neutral or Coral and MK Nourishine Lip Gloss in Melon Sorbet or Gold Rush.
Application Tips:
To apply for perfection, use Timewise Age-Fighting Lip Primer to prime and moisturize lips. Wait for primer

- Wearing Sweet Nectar and Coral Rose Lip Gloss
to dry fully before applying lip liner.
Apply lip liner with sweep across whole bottom lip and across from the middle to each outer corner on upper lip. For increased wear, fill in lips lightly with lip liner.
Using a lip brush, apply creme lipstick across whole lip, saturating lips with color, puckering them after to ensure full coverage.
Gently apply lip gloss from middle of lips outwards, ensuring heaviest saturation of lip gloss is in middle of lips.
And, voila! Sheer beauty in a tube. Who doesn’t love lipstick?
L’Oreal True Match Concealer
My colors: Fair/Light W(warm)1-2-3, Fair/Light N(neutral)1-2-3
My rating: 10/10 stars!!!!
This is an amazing concealer! I’ve tried numerous others with very little success. My skin is a very difficult tone to match, as it changes more than just with the seasons, and my tones vary from area to area. This concealer appealed to me because of the price, quite honestly. I happened to notice that it was on sale Buy 1 Get 1 Free at the local grocery store, and had to jump at the chance to try it. I’ve loved most L’Oreal products in the past, and didn’t figure it could hurt to try one more.
I was immediately impressed by the range of shades available, as I’ve tried so many others that don’t cover, and are either too dark, too orange, or too light for my skin tone. I’m very fair, and have an olive undertone to my skin which darkens with sun exposure. I grabbed the neutral shade and knew then it was perfect for my undereye circles(hereditary nastiness from my German father).
I figured I might as well buy another one since I needed one to cover blemishes my foundation doesn’t cover, so I grabbed the Warm Fair/Light. It’s perfect for over my foundation! It blends perfectly with my eye brush, and doesn’t feather into my large, oily icky pores.
The applicator is quite unique in that it is a small brush instead of a sponge tip applicator. I personally prefer this, as it offers more precision application and better opportunity for coverage.
So, how does it wear? It’s great. It lasts all day through me running around and sweating, and even survives harsh UV flourescent lights. That’s a concealer!
